The incident led to the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
