Reigning Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.

The tennis star celebrating a point
Aryna Sabalenka ended the season with an notable twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.

A Year of Consistency

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a record eleven million pounds in prize money.

She garnered almost 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "help bring women's tennis to a new level".

  • Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after making five championship matches.
