A jet carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The plane landed following standard procedures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.

This incident isn't the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has experienced technical problems.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
