The debated, United States and Israel-funded GHF aid organization says it is winding down its humanitarian work in the Gaza region, after almost six months.

The organisation had earlier paused its three food distribution sites in Gaza subsequent to the truce agreement between Hamas and Israel was implemented in recent weeks.

The organization attempted to avoid UN systems as the main supplier of aid to Gaza's population.

United Nations organizations and other humanitarian groups declined to participate with its approach, saying it was improper and dangerous.

Many residents were fatally wounded while attempting to obtain sustenance amid chaotic scenes near the foundation's locations, primarily from Israeli forces, as reported by United Nations.

The Israeli military claimed its troops fired warning shots.

Program Termination

The GHF said on the beginning of the week that it was terminating work now because of the "successful completion of its emergency mission", with a cumulative three million shipments containing the amounting to in excess of 187 million sustenance units distributed to Gazans.

The GHF's executive director, Jon Acree, further mentioned the American-directed Civil-Military Coordination Center - which has been created to help implement the American administration's Gaza initiative - would be "taking over and developing the approach the organization demonstrated".

"The organization's system, in which Hamas could no longer loot and profit from stealing aid, played a huge role in convincing militant groups to participate and securing a halt in hostilities."

Feedback and Statements

Hamas - which denies stealing aid - supported the shutdown of the aid organization, as indicated by media.

An official from said GHF should be made responsible for the harm it caused to Palestinians.

"We call upon all worldwide humanitarian bodies to make certain that consequences are faced after leading to casualties and wounds of numerous Palestinians and covering up the nutritional restriction approach practised by the Israel's administration."

Operational Background

The GHF began operations in Gaza on late May, a week after the Israeli government had moderately reduced a complete restriction on aid and commercial deliveries to Gaza that persisted for nearly three months and caused severe shortages of necessary provisions.

Three months later, a famine was declared in the Palestinian urban center.

The organization's sustenance provision locations in the southern and middle regions of Gaza were operated by US private security contractors and located inside regions under Israeli military authority.

Aid Organization Objections

The UN and its partners stated the system violated the core assistance standards of objectivity, fairness and autonomy, and that channelling desperate people into armed forces regions was intrinsically hazardous.

International human rights monitoring body said it recorded the deaths of a minimum of 859 residents trying to acquire sustenance in the proximity to foundation locations between 26 May and 31 July.

Another 514 people were fatally wounded around the routes of UN and other aid convoys, it added.

The majority of these individuals were killed by the Israeli military, according to the office.

Conflicting Accounts

Israeli defense forces stated its troops had fired warning shots at individuals who came near them in a "threatening" manner.

The GHF said there were no shooting events at the distribution centers and accused the UN of using "inaccurate and deceptive" statistics from the Palestinian health authority administered by Hamas.

Ongoing Situation

The organization's continuation had been indefinite since Hamas and Israel agreed a halt in hostilities arrangement to execute the initial stage of the American administration's peace initiative.

It said humanitarian assistance would take place "without interference from the both sides through the international bodies and their affiliates, and the humanitarian medical organization, in conjunction with other global organizations not connected in any way" with militant groups and the Israeli government.

International organization official the international body's communicator said on Monday that the organization's termination would have "zero effect" on its operations "as we never partnered with them".

The official further mentioned that while additional assistance was reaching the Palestinian territory since the halt in hostilities began on early October, it was "insufficient to meet all the needs" of the 2.1 million residents.
